Photo 1
I selected this photo because of the colors and complexity of the wood . Compositionally, there is repetition and texture in this piece. Over and over you see similar pieces of wood, but not the American piece, it is good when it comes to bringing your eye around the piece. When I edited this photo I kept the color the same, and cropped it so only the wood was in the photo, but that was it. My camera was set at iOS 400, 1/125 and F/5.5.

Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is depth of feel. There is also texture seen in her hair and her sweater. When I edited this photo, I made the picture black and white, so that it would make her more spooky and give a dangerous feel. I adjusted how close up I took her photo from seeing her whole body to just the upper half of her body. The camera was set to an ISO 800, 1/125 and for stop of f/5.6
This photo communicates/reminds me of/ makes me think of a dangerous feel free the picture, and the prop she's holding was more danger as if it was poison. |
Photo 3
This photo was taken on a trip during the early beginning of the school year at my favorite place.
What I like about this photo is the colors of the flower, and how it contrasts with the background of the rolling hills. My point of view was very close up, and down pointing towards the sky to get both the flower and the hills. The photo Follows the rule of thirds because it is having the flower in the bottom half of the photo, and the hills in another thirds, and e blue in the top half of the photo. The ISO was set to 200 and the White Balance was set to sunny outdoors. The aperture was set to F/5.5 |
Photo 4
I selected this photo because of how complex the pugs face is. Compositionally, there is Texture, and a lot of complexity in the back that makes you focus on his eyes. In photoshop, I changed how cropped the photo to, and made the background more blurry, as well as added sharpness into his whiskers. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/500 because he was swinging on a swing. as well as I set aperture to F/11

This photo was also taken in my favorite place, of my horses. It was taken the same time as my earlier photos in the beginning of the school year. In photoshop, the only thing that I had changed was the sharpness of the trees in the hill and the blue sky and how strong the blue is in the corner. The white balance was set to sunny, and ISO was set to 200. I think it works well with the rule for thirds from the horses, to how the hills roll in the background.

I selected this photo because of the complexity, and the coloring of her hair. In photoshop, the only thing I changed was how dark the photo was so that the left side of her face was ark and you couldn't see her eye. I tried to use the ideas of texture in mind because her hair and sweater has tons of texture, that keeps the photo interesting.
To take this photo I had the camera set to an ISO of 800, 1/125 (shutter speed) and f/5.6(aperture/depth of field). |
